DIY Umrah - Step 1: Visa Application Process

DIY Umrah - Step 1: Visa Application Process

Bahasa Melayu

Embarking on the sacred journey of Umrah requires meticulous planning, and obtaining the necessary visa is a crucial initial step. Here's a comprehensive overview of the Umrah visa application process, based on the terms and conditions outlined by Nusuk:

1. Overview of Umrah Visa Requirements:

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, entrusted with serving the guests of Rahman, has introduced the Nusuk application to facilitate Umrah and visit permits. This application enables individuals to request permits for Umrah, Tawaf, and prayers at Rawdah, ensuring a spiritually enriching and safe experience. The process integrates with the "Tawakkalna application" to verify the health status of permit applicants, adhering to health measures and regulatory systems.

2. How to Apply for an Umrah Visa:

To initiate your Umrah visa application process, start by visiting the Nusuk website at https://www.nusuk.sa/, and click on the "Apply for Visa" option.

Upon clicking, a pop-up window will prompt you to select your nationality from the dropdown menu.

Once you've indicated your nationality, you'll be presented with the types of visas you're eligible for:

a) eVisa Online
b) Visa On Arrival
c) Visa through Package
d) Transit or Stopover Visa

For DIY Umrah, Visa through Package and Transit or Stopover Visa may not be applicable to you. Visa through Package is intended for those opting for Nusuk-designed tours or Umrah packages. Meanwhile, the Transit or Stopover Visa is designed for travelers passing through Saudi Arabia for various reasons, including Umrah, visits to the Prophet’s Mosque, or tourism events. I'll delve deeper into this in my upcoming blog.

For DIY Umrah visa requirements, you'll likely need to select 'eVisa Online'. 'Visa On Arrival' may require travel through airlines based in Saudi Arabia, which may not align with your plans.

Once you choose 'eVisa Online', you'll see the following information and requirements:

Information

  • eVisa Price: SAR 494.21 (approximately USD 131.78)

  • Application Fee: Included in eVisa price

  • Medical Insurance Fee: Included in eVisa price

  • Entry: Multiple Entry

  • Validity: The multiple entry visa is valid for a year from its issue date and allows for stays of up to 90 days

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply alone. Travelers under 18 may enter only if accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or adult sibling (over 18).

  • Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the entry date into Saudi Arabia, unless you're a U.S. citizen. U.S. citizens may enter as long as their passports are valid, regardless of the remaining time before expiration.

Click "Apply Online" and proceed to fill in the required information. Additionally, Nusuk is the official platform for issuing Umrah, Tawaf, and Rawdah permits. Eligible individuals, including those from outside the Kingdom, can register by providing passport or visa details, nationality, and date of birth. Registration is open to individuals aged five years and above, subject to health clearance. Permits are automatically canceled if the applicant is diagnosed with any diseases or epidemics as classified by the Ministry of Health.

Don't forget to download Nusuk app and book your Umrah and Ziyarah. Available for iPhone
Android, and Huawei

3. Required Documents and Procedures:

To comply with the Nusuk application's password policy, applicants must create a password with a minimum of seven characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Upon successful registration, users can access the application to request permits for Umrah, Tawaf, and Rawdah. The application offers services for citizens, residents, and visa holders within the Kingdom, providing transportation options and essential amenities for pilgrims.

4. Your Application

Once you've submitted your eVisa application, several important points come into play:

  • If your eVisa application is accepted, you will receive the eVisa as an email attachment.

  • In the event that they are unable to accept your application for any reason, they will make reasonable efforts to inform you of this by email.

  • Please note that once you've submitted an application for an eVisa, you will not be able to cancel it or request a refund under any circumstances.

  • Applicants who are not successful in their eVisa application, regardless of the reason, will not be entitled to a refund of any application fees paid.

  • An invoice for your transaction will be issued upon completion.

  • To facilitate the processing of your application, it is imperative that you provide them with true and accurate information. Any application containing false or misleading information will be rejected. They reserve the right to share any such application with the authorities in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

  • Approval of an eVisa is at the sole discretion of the Ministry of Tourism and any applicable authority or regulator.

  • Payment of the application fee does not guarantee approval of an eVisa.

  • Holding an eVisa does not guarantee entry to KSA. Entry to KSA remains subject to meeting the conditions at the border, and admission is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer.

5. Price and Payment

Understanding the pricing and payment terms is essential:

  • The price of the service will be clearly stated on the website and during the eVisa application process. Please note that the fee for the eVisa may be amended from time to time at the sole discretion of the Ministry of Tourism.

  • Value-Added Tax (VAT) will be charged at the applicable rate and is payable by the applicant as part of the fees.

6. eVisa Validity

Here's what you need to know about the validity of the eVisa:

  • The eVisa will be valid for one year from the date of issuance.

  • It allows for multiple entries, unless otherwise specified on the specific eVisa.

  • The maximum length of stay permitted under the eVisa is 3 months.

  • Please note that the eVisa cannot be extended. If it expires before entry to KSA, you must apply again, and another application fee must be paid.

7.  Photo Requirements

Ensuring that your photograph meets the specified criteria is crucial for a successful eVisa application. Here's what you need to know:

Format (Size):

  • Your photograph must be 200 x 200 pixels in width and height, with an image size ranging from 5 to 100 Kb.

  • The photo should show a close-up of your face and the top of your shoulders, with your face taking up between 70% - 80% of the frame or 1.4" x 1.6" from the chin to the crown of the head.

  • It must clearly display your facial features, including the left and right sides of your face.

  • If you have voluminous hair, ensure that your head, including the hairstyle, is fully depicted without reducing the size of your face.

  • The face should be centered in the photo and the image must be no more than six months old to ensure an up-to-date likeness.

Background

  • The background of the photo should be white and free from any patterns.

  • Only the person being photographed should be visible in the photo, with no other individuals or objects present.

  • Shadows must not be visible on the background.

Expression

  • Ensure that your head is square to the camera, with your face slightly rotated and/or tilted if necessary.

  • Your face and eyes must be directly facing the camera, with both ears and cheeks clearly visible.

Headwear

  • Generally, headwear is not permitted in the photograph. However, exceptions may be made for religious reasons.

  • If headwear is worn for religious purposes, the face must be fully visible from the lower tip of the chin to the forehead, with no shadows on the face.

Following these guidelines meticulously will help ensure that your photograph meets the necessary requirements for your eVisa application.

Conclusion:

To conclude, navigating the Umrah visa application process through the Nusuk application involves understanding eligibility criteria, registration requirements, and password policies. By adhering to these guidelines and utilizing the online platform, individuals can streamline their visa application process and embark on their spiritual journey with confidence and ease.

In adherence to the terms and conditions outlined by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, applicants are encouraged to carefully review and abide by the guidelines provided to ensure a smooth and successful visa application experience.
