Check-In & Check-Out Policies Every Umrah Traveller Should Know
When planning for Umrah or Umrah Plus journeys, many travellers focus on flights, visas, and transport — but one detail often overlooked is the check-in and check-out policy at hotels or homestays.
Understanding this will help you manage your time, avoid unexpected charges, and plan your journey more smoothly.
International Standard Practice
Across most hotels and hospitality facilities worldwide (including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and beyond), the standard check-in and check-out times are:
- Check-in: From 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm
- Check-out: By 12:00 pm (noon) or 11:00 am
This means your stay is calculated by nights, not by the hour.
For example, as clarified by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism:
👉 If you check in late at 10:00 pm, your check-out time the next day remains at noon. A late arrival does not automatically extend your check-out time.
Why This Matters for Umrah Travellers
Umrah trips often involve odd flight timings. Many flights from Asia land in Jeddah or Madinah late at night or early morning, and jemaah assume the hotel will adjust the check-out. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
So, if your flight reaches Jeddah at 3:00 am and you only book from the following night, you may not be allowed to check-in immediately. In such cases:
✅ Book from the previous day to guarantee your room.
✅ Or request early check-in — subject to availability.
At Arinara Homestay (Putrajaya Example)
Like most hospitality facilities, Arinara Homestay 1 & 2 also follow this international standard.
- Standard check-in: 2:00 pm
- Standard check-out: 12:00 pm
But good news!
✨ Extended late check-out can be requested, and approval is subject to availability. We recommend asking the night before.
This helps guests — especially those attending late-night events in Putrajaya — to enjoy a bit more comfort before leaving.

What About Online Bookings (HalalBooking.com Example)?
According to HalalBooking’s FAQ:
"You may add ‘Additional information or special requests’ when booking and ask for a late check-out. However, most properties do not allow late check-out beyond the official time, especially during peak season. It’s best to ask directly at the reception the night before."
So, whether you’re booking through HalalBooking, Agoda, or directly with the property — the rule is the same: request first, confirm availability.
