In recent years, these restrictions have been relaxed. Today, women of all ages can embark on Umrah without a male guardian, marking a significant step towards independence and accessibility for female pilgrims. 2. Best Times to Travel

For women planning their Umrah, timing can make a world of difference:

• Ideal Travel Period: Consider traveling after the Hajj season (Muharram to Rabi’ul Akhir). Airfares and hotel rates are typically more affordable, and the holy sites are less crowded, making it easier to focus on worship.

  

• Weather Considerations: Keep in mind that these months, approximately July to October (2025) in the Gregorian calendar are among the hottest in Saudi Arabia. Be prepared for temperatures that can soar above 40°C (104°F). Stay hydrated, wear loose, breathable clothing, and plan outdoor activities during cooler hours.

Transportation:

• In Madinah, the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Al Madinah is a fantastic way to explore historical sites. It covers nearly all major landmarks, and the pre-recorded guides are available in English, Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia, making the experience informative and convenient.

• In Makkah, don’t miss the opportunity to visit significant sites such as Cave Hira, where the first revelation of the Quran was received.

Religious Guidance:

• Bring along Doa flashcards from the Aara TikTok Showcase to guide you during Tawaf and Sa’i rituals. These compact cards are perfect for first-time pilgrims or anyone who needs a quick reference.
